Pakistan bowled well in the middle overs—Haris Rauf and Abrar Ahmed took three wickets each. Pakistan also conceded 23 extras.
In reply, Pakistan got a strong start compared to the first ODI. Their first wicket fell at 77 in just 9.4 overs. Fakhar Zaman led the chase with a brilliant 78 off 93 balls, hitting eight fours and one six. Saim Ayub added an attacking 33 off 25 balls.
Babar Azam finally returned to form with a magnificent 102 not out off 119 deliveries. It was his first century in a long time, and it will surely boost his confidence. Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten on 51 off 54, hitting five boundaries and one six. Pakistan chased the target comfortably, losing only two wickets. Dushmantha Chameera took both wickets.
